new scene

I recently moved to Wisconsin from Chicago. I have a lot to say about it, but not today. Instead, here is what I’ve seen so far.

jellies

A few jellyfish photos taken with my iphone at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago

grave colors, day and night

Trying to.

Let go of.
The safety of.
This solitude.

Frozen.

Black Dog

Black dog
In a gather of doves
Dark and earthbound
A whole other animal

I pine for your fragility
For your gypsy eyes

When the smudged wind blows
I am not taken
Not one strand of hair
Misplaced in the upswing

You ascend
Lifted, in concert
A blanket of white
And whispers

I envy your easy escape
Your nonchalance

I stand on hard ground
Separate
A menacing cloud
Abandoned by blue sky

You mock my craving
With your birdsong

Yet, a sacrifice is made
Always for my yearning
Wounded, slow
Or dull

A chance to redden my road
With vigorous shades of loss
To catch a bitter taste
Of liberty

Untitled

You are another dimension
A world of your own

And I
A buoyant space case
Drawn into your atmosphere

A stray asteroid
Torn up in the alien air

I fall as a pile of shards
A busted window on your shore

Salty waves devour my splintered bones
Your crooked grin seeps into
My cracked glass soul

Jagged stones grind against what’s left
You taste me, broken

Disgust and sweet relief
Like sour stars
Popping in your gullet

A swimming explosion down low
Blasting through a chasm of
Loathing

Banging my soggy molecules
Into the electric walls of your belly

You are the world
A God of my own

And I am lost inside you
Decades ago

Writhing and unreal
